Maternity Photos at Ellwood Bluffs - The summer of babies
It is truly the summer of babies in Santa Barbara. It feels like everyone I know is having a baby this summer. There's something in the water in Santa Barbara County this year, and I've loved every golden-lit minute of documenting it.
The latest addition to this summer of babies: a sunset session out at Ellwood Bluffs in Goleta for C and N.
Tips for a Maternity Session at Ellwood Bluffs
Start in the eucalyptus grove. The dappled light there photographs beautifully and gives a nice contrast to the open bluff shots later.
Time it for evening. The golden light over the water is at its best in the last hour before sunset.
Mind the wildlife. Depending on the season, you may be sharing the space with monarchs or nesting plovers, so we'll always stay on marked trails.
Bring layers. Goleta evenings cool off fast once the sun starts dropping toward the water.
